Privacy Policy for the app “Skybeard”

Last updated: October 2026

In short: Skybeard needs no account and does not collect any personal data itself. Your progress stays on your device. Only if you agree, anonymous game statistics without any identifier show us where the game is too hard. To keep the game free, it shows ads via Google AdMob – personalised only if you agree. In-app purchases are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). This policy applies to iPhone, iPad and Android.

2. What the app stores itself

Skybeard stores your progress, settings, in-game purchases (gears, paint jobs, outfits) and best scores only locally on your device. There is no sign-in and no user account; we never receive this data. If you have turned on your device’s backup (iCloud Backup or Android backup to your Google account), it includes this data so your progress returns after switching devices – this is handled by Apple or Google, we have no access to it. Otherwise deleting the app removes it.

3. Anonymous game statistics

On first launch the app asks whether you would like to help. Only if you agree (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG) does it count anything – before that, and if you say no, nothing is counted or sent.

To see where the game is too hard or too easy, the app counts simple totals: how often a level was started, completed or skipped, after how many attempts (in ranges such as “4–10”), after how many gates and with which machine a crash happened, how long you flew, how far you have progressed, at which level a play session ended and after what break (in ranges such as “2–7 days”) you played again, for how many days the game has been in use, which machines were built, and how often each purchase and ad occurred (without price or payment data). For this the app only remembers on your device the day of the first launch, the end of the last session and the attempts per level – none of this is sent individually. In addition only the app version, the app language, the device type (iPhone or iPad, or Android phone or tablet) and the major version of the operating system (iOS or Android) are sent.

The app sends these daily totals in batches over an encrypted connection to our server (games.realmaker.de). They contain no device ID, no advertising ID, no user ID and no other identifier; on the server the totals of all players are simply added up. We do not store IP addresses. As with any web request, our host’s web server (ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany) logs the request including the IP address for technical reasons (server log files); these are kept only as long as needed for secure operation and then deleted automatically (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in secure operation). The statistics cannot be traced back to you.

Withdrawal: at any time in the game’s pause menu under “Anonymous game stats”. The app then stops counting and deletes anything not yet sent.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads via Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”): short videos you can choose to watch for a reward (e.g. doubling gears) and an occasional ad between two levels – never during a flight.

Google processes in particular: device and advertising identifiers (on iPhone and iPad Apple’s advertising ID IDFA only with your permission, on Android Google’s advertising ID and the app set ID), IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device type, operating system, app version, language, and information about ads shown and tapped.

Consent

On first launch the app asks, using Google’s consent dialog (Google User Messaging Platform), whether personalised ads are allowed (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). On iPhone and iPad, iOS then asks whether the app may track you across other companies’ apps and websites (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, you only see non-personalised ads; Google still processes limited data, e.g. to prevent fraud and cap how often ads are shown (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Withdrawal: You can change your choice at any time – in the game’s pause menu under “Privacy settings”, and for tracking in iOS Settings under “Privacy & Security → Tracking”. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings (depending on the device under “Privacy → Ads” or “Google → Ads”).

Google may transfer data to countries outside the EU, in particular the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

With the “No Ads” purchase, ads between levels are switched off and rewards come without a video.

5. In-app purchases

Purchases (e.g. “No Ads”) go through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Payment and the data required for it are processed solely by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. We never learn your name or payment details; the app only receives an anonymous confirmation of which product was bought. In the anonymous game statistics (section 3) we only count how often each product was bought.

6. App Store, Google Play, Game Center and Google Play Games

App Store (iPhone, iPad): Downloads, updates and purchases are subject to Apple’s terms and Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you have agreed in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. crash reports).

Game Center (iPhone, iPad): If you are signed in to Apple’s Game Center on your device, the app reports your best scores (number of stars collected, endless record per world) and achievements to Game Center. Other players can see them there under your Game Center name. We do not receive any data about you through this; Apple’s terms apply. You can sign out or change your visibility in iOS Settings under “Game Center”.

Google Play (Android): Downloads, updates and purchases are subject to Google Play’s terms and Google’s Privacy Policy. If you have agreed in Android to share usage and diagnostics data, Google provides us with aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. crash reports).

Google Play Games (Android): If you have a Google Play Games profile, the app signs you in with it and reports your best scores (number of stars collected, endless record per world) and achievements to Google Play Games. Other players can see them there under your profile name, depending on your visibility settings. To avoid duplicate reports, the app remembers on your device what it has already reported. We do not receive any data about you through this; Google’s terms apply. You manage your profile and visibility in the “Google Play Games” app.

7. Children

Skybeard is not directed at children under 16.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. As we do not store personal data ourselves, please contact Google directly regarding advertising data; we are happy to help with questions at the email address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

9. Changes

If the app changes in a way that involves other data, we will update this policy. The version published here applies.
